Atlanta, Georgia – Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer has a new coach.
The team has had four coaches since Budenheim took over, with two of them being in the past four seasons.
Now the Hawks are heading into the second half of the season in a similar situation.
Atlanta defeated the Brooklyn Raptors 102-89 on Monday night, moving into a tie with the Orlando Magic for the third best record in the Eastern Conference.
With two wins in three games, Atlanta now sits within one game of the Orlando and Chicago Bulls for the top spot in the West.
Budenhamzer is averaging a team-best 37.8 points per game and has had six players score in double figures in five of the Hawks five victories this season.
He has been aggressive in his offense with five different players scoring in double digits in each game.
“We’re trying to make sure we keep our hands up,” Budenhausler said.
This is a team that’s going to get back into the groove of what we’ve done for the past three years, which is win every game.
The Hawks are now just two games behind the Chicago Bulls, who are in the midst of a three game sweep of the Miami Heat.
